Management of HFrEF: Will Novel Therapies Fit Into Existing Treatment Paradigms?
Activity Description
The treatment algorithm for heart failure (HF) is evolving rapidly. Recently presented data showed positive cardiovascular outcomes and reduced hospitalization for HF were noted in patients with HF with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) treated with novel therapeutic agents, Additionally, guidelines for the management of HF were also recently updated. As such, clinicians may not be aware of these new data and treatment recommendations, and as a result, patients with HFrEF may not be receiving optimal treatment. This educational activity has been designed to evaluate the strategies to optimize the use of guideline-directed medical therapy in HFrEF, the unique mechanisms of action and clinical data for novel therapies supporting their use in HFrEF and their role in the current treatment algorithm, and the novel framework of “The Four Pillars of Heart Failure.”

Target Audience
The intended audience for this activity is cardiologists, cardiology nurses, cardiology nurse practitioners, cardiology physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals involved in the management of patients with heart failure.
