Clinical Conundrums in Pharmacologic Therapy for HFrEF: Case-Based Approaches
Overview

HFSA 23rd Annual Scientific Meeting

SESSION 30 - Clinical Conundrums: Pharmacotherapy for HFrEF: Case-Based Debates

Sep 15, 2019 3:15pm - Sep 15, 2019 4:45pm

Session Description
This session illustrates common clinical conundrums during the longitudinal medical treatment of patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF). Three cases will be presented to a multidisciplinary panel of heart failure management and pharmacist experts to debate appropriate management strategies.
Learning Objectives

As a result of this educational session, the learner will be able to:

  1. Construct drug therapy regimens for patients with HFrEF and recuperated left ventricle function.
  2. Devise management strategies for patients who develop hypotension during titration of guideline directed medical therapy (GDMT) for HFrEF.
  3. Discuss therapeutic options for patients who develop hyperkalemia or worsening renal function during GDMT initiation for HFrEF.
