Session Description
Historically, Amyloidosis was thought to be rare, untreatable and solely a disease for academic interest. In the current era, it is increasingly recognized as a more common cause of heart failure, accounting for over 10% of patients with HFpEF.  Further, effective evidence-based therapies are currently available to hinder disease progression and improve outcomes. Early diagnosis of cardiac amyloidosis is key and has a significant impact on patient survival.
Learning Objectives

As a result of this educational session, the learner will be able to:

  1. Provide an overview of amyloidosis and its various manifestations.
  2. Identify clinical pearls that arise disease suspicion and a diagnostic algorithm for timely diagnosis.
  3. Describe the role of multimodality imaging in making the diagnosis.
  4. Provide contemporary update on the management of transthyretin and light chain amyloidosis.
