This session will focus on important concepts in managing cardiogenic shock.

Learning Objectives
  1. Recognize when to use mechanical circulatory support for acute cardiogenic shock.
  2. Explain indications for intra-aortic balloon pump and other ventricular assist devices (VAD).
  3. Describe indications for ECMO.
  4. Discuss management right ventricular support for cardiogenic shock.
  5. Discuss pharmacologic management of cardiogenic shock patients.
