SESSION 36 - Clinical Conundrums: Managing AFib and Device Therapies in HF: Case-Based Debates

Sep 16, 2019 8:00am - Sep 16, 2019 9:30am

Session Description
This session will cover engaging one-on-one debates discussing the management of common clinical conundrums that involve clinical scenarios that encompass the intersection between the heart failure and the electrophysiology teams. Topics covered include rhythm management strategies for atrial fibrillation, implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) management in individuals with recovered ejection fraction, and imaging-based cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) optimization.
Learning Objectives

As a result of this educational session, the learner will be able to:

  1. Discuss the role for atrial fibrillation ablation in individuals with advanced heart failure.
  2. Recognize and detail the controversies of ICD management in individuals with recovered left ventricle ejection fraction.
  3. Identify imaging-based strategies and techniques for CRT optimization.
